The Jacob is a spotted sheep which carries the polycerate trait (multiple horns). The Jacobs have not undergone improved breeding and out crossing like a lot of commercial sheep. They have retained a more primitive body shape, are slender boned and provide a flavorful, lean carcass with little external fat. Jacob sheep are very hardy, lamb easily and have a resistance to parasites and foot problems. The fleece is medium fine with no outer coat, open and soft, plus is light in grease making it a hand spinners delight!
